Jock Itch

One of them, tinea cruris, is more commonly known as Jock Itch. The fungus builds a ring-shaped rash on the surface of the inner thigh, as well as on the buttocks and genitals.

Ringworm

Another type of body fungal infection, tinea corporis, is better known as Ringworm of the Body. The fungus typically forms round patches on the skin that may be red, raised and inflamed around the outside.

Finally, there is also ringworm of the scalp - tinea capitis - , where the fungus forms circular patches on the head. However, this fungal infection is typically limited to infants and school age children.
