Lamisil® Once™
It's normal to still have questions about athlete's foot and its treatment. Hopefully, you'll find answers in this list of frequently asked ones.
- FAQs
-
- How is it possible for Lamisil® Once™ to treat my athlete's foot after only one application?
-
Even though you only apply it one time, Lamisil® Once™'s active ingredient remains in the skin for up to 13 days where it kills off the fungus causing your infection - and treats your athlete's foot.
- After using Lamisil® Once™, how long should I wait before showering?
-
For maximum effectiveness, you're advised to wait 24 hours before taking a shower or bath.
- Should I be worried about any side effects?
-
Most people don't experience any side effects. Rarely, someone might be allergic to an active ingredient. If you experience an allergic reaction, use surgical spirit to remove the film from your feet, then wash and dry them - and contact your doctor. If you think the product is irritating or drying out your skin, seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
- How is Lamisil® Once™ different from other Lamisil® products?
-
Other Lamisil® products require a week of daily application, and some can be used to treat other fungal infections.
In contrast, Lamisil® Once™ only has to be applied one time - and it's a special formula to treat the simple athlete's foot that starts between your toes.
- Will Lamisil® Once™ treat my athlete's foot forever?
-
If used correctly, Lamisil® Once™ should treat your current bout of athlete's foot, and reduces your risk of re-infection for up to three months. To avoid future infections, practise good foot care and follow the tips on preventing athlete's foot.
- I only have symptoms on one foot, so why should I treat both feet?
-
In 80% of all cases of athlete's foot, both feet are infected - even if you can't identify symptoms on both. To make sure your athlete's foot is treated properly and to prevent re-infection, use Lamisil® Once™ on both feet as directed.
- Only the area between my toes is infected. Why do I still have to apply the spray all over my feet?
-
Even if you can't see it, it's likely the infection has spread to other parts of your feet. To make sure the fungus is completely treated and to prevent reinfection, apply Lamisil® Once™ as directed.
- Is it safe for me to use Lamisil® Once™ if I'm pregnant or breast-feeding?
-
Consult your doctor if you have athlete's foot while breast-feeding or pregnant. Breast-feeding mothers should not use Lamisil® Once™.
- What else can I do during treatment for athlete's foot?
-
Wash your feet daily and dry them well afterwards. You should also change your towel, washcloth and socks every day during treatment. And finally, resist scratching the infected area. This can cause the fungus to land on other surfaces, which could lead to re-infection.
